Peshawar hand-knotted rugs are a type of carpet, which was originally made and exported by Afghan rug makers in the city of Peshawar. More than 60% of all rugs made worldwide are produced in Pakistan. The term "Peshawar" is often used as a synonym for any Persian-Afghan rug, but there are other words that also refer to it, such as Ghazni rugs or Chobi rugs.

The style of these Peshawar area rugs portrays unique features only found in Persian styles & Turkish Oushak style rugs. Peshawar rugs from Pakistan have this vintage look to them, they are mostly cream rugs that have muted and washed-away colors. Peshawar Chobi rugs are normally made with dense wool (65-85%), with silk and cotton filling in the remaining mix. These rugs are hand-knotted and have been dyed with vegetable dyes. They also have a thinner pile & an antique patina.
